Sometimes it happens that a long-cherished dreams, perhaps masked by natural modesty, will be realized as if by magic so sometimes it blooms true art, as always happens when the desire is linked to life, and passion to the ability of expression.

The tale of the Old Ways began in this way.

Four artists from Ascoli Piceno, from different music styles, landing on the shores of the universe ethereal Celtic especially surprised to shatter mutual human encounter, in a rediscovery friendly size unknown at the indifferent musical world of the province:

Giovanna Girolami, exquisite vocal sensibility combined with a very clear voice of opera from with its evocative Celtic harp and flute-beak;

Alberto Fabiani, amazing with his violin, shaped by a career already full of important references concert;

Vinicio Ferracuti, engaging melodies and harmonies with his classical guitar and Irish bouzouki;

Niki Barulli, capable of imparting to the playful spirit and body percussion rhythm.

The four met six years ago, charmed by the atmosphere cultured by Loreena McKennitt, but it is as if they had known each other forever and always played in ensembles.
Starts in this way, an overwhelming taste of making music, to weave plots lost voice, inventing new spaces of expression.

The Old Ways playing fun and enjoy playing. They go wherever there is a desire for real music played and not sampled, lived and not granted; they appear in pubs sweeping everything and everyone with the pressing Irish ballads, but also in the square shows, bear the brunt of the crowd spellbound by the charm Celtic and halls of the "good music", supported by their pure artistic quality. They are interested in all that is ethnic, that is popular, and old , that is steeped in culture and tradition; they walk back to the story, making it live again as if by magic from haunting Gaelic ballads to songs of the medieval Christian faith, from odes of the knights warlike Celts of the delicate matters of love.

They touch on the secret keys of the human heart, those that the dominant cultural assimilation obliterates in the folds of conformism: the desire for truth, goodness, beauty.
